The Lies Behind Fast Food Ads

Constantly on television we are forced to watch ads for all the fast food chains that leave most people with their mouths watering and stomachs growling. The images they show us of delicious, appealing food is very hard to turn down and resist. Once you get to the fast food place, our expectations are usually let down. They make the burgers look so big and tasty when in reality they are much smaller in size when you order it. I believe fast food companies need to start living up to the image they present to us because they are leaving thousands of people unsatisfied every day with their false advertisements.

  1. I agree that it is a major letdown when I expect something delcious and it ends up being bad. I really don' think the fast food chains are going to change because they know that people will continue to buy their products. Also, it they really tried improving the food to look like the commercials, it will probably end up jacking up the prices.

  2. I think it would be really difficult for fast food chains to present us with the same looking products that they advertise on t.v. Realistically, we get what we pay for and since they are such well known chains most consumers already know the quality product they're paying for. Fast food chains are not luxury restaurants rather they are just convenient restaurants. Maybe they should depict the food in their advertisements true to how they really look in real life but either way they are getting people in and out so they don't really have an incentive to change how they're advertising.

  3. I agree with this because I know when i go i get pissed off because it ends up looking nasty. I sometimes lose my appetite when I get there.I also agree with Tulin because it would be hard and expensive if the companies made this food look just as delicious and then it would not be fast food anymore it would take them so much longer to cook and perfect it.
